Kootenay fans of Corb Lund will have a chance to see the Canadian country music star, and Grand Old Opry performer, play live this fall.

Spend an intimate evening with “the thinking cowboy’s troubadour,” Nov. 27 at The Bailey Theatre in Trail, or in Cranbrook at the Key City Theatre the following night, Nov. 28.

Both shows start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the Trail and Cranbrook shows go on sale Friday, May 10, at noon.

Hailing from the foothills of the Rocky Mountains with a long family lineage of ranchers and rodeo people, Corb Lund is described as “about as authentic as they come,

and equally as hard to define.”

The western Canadian singer-songwriter is an elusive artist, onstage, offstage, and in the studio-seamlessly weaving between the outlaw country, Western, and indie-folk realms with an honest curiosity and rowdy devotion to each.

He was raised with the tried and true sentiment of “if you want something done, you gotta do it yourself,” launching his career recording in his basement, printing his own shirts, booking his own tours, being his own manager and publicist — whatever it took to get it done.

The rural Albertan toured for years with the indie-metal band, The Smalls, and later turned his sights to writing Western songs, creating a rather unique and quirky hybrid writing style along the way.

He has received multiple domestic and international award wins and nominations.

In 2022, Lund won his 14th career Canadian Country Music Award and made his debut at the historic Grand Ole Opry the following year.

He has three Gold albums to his credit, and his highly acclaimed album EL VIEJO, was released in February 2024.

The album features all original songs, and the title song is a tribute to his long time friend Ian Tyson.

Tickets are available at the Bailey box office in person, or online at trail-arts.com.or by phone at 250.368.9669.

In Cranbrook, tickets are available at the box office, online at keycitytheatre.com or by calling 250.426.7006.

Get your tickets early because demand for this solo live performance is expected to be high as his shows are selling out everywhere.
