Jake Diebler’s offseason roster overhaul now includes a former five-star recruit.

Ohio State’s first-year head coach landed Duke transfer forward Sean Stewart, who was officially added to the roster over the weekend.

Stewart, 6-foot-9 and 230 pounds, averaged 2.6 points and 3.2 rebounds while logging an average of 8.3 minutes over 33 games. He shot 57.1 percent from the floor.

“Sean plays with great urgency/effort, and has a versatility to his game that will be valuable,” Diebler wrote on social media.

Diebler previously recruited Stewart when the Florida native was a five-star prospect and McDonald’s All-American ranked the No. 17 player overall in the 2023 recruiting class. Ohio State coach Chris Holtmann was fired in February and Diebler replaced him on an interim basis before getting the full-time job the following month after posting a 6-2 record to close the regular season.

The late-season push, which began with an upset victory against eventual national runner-up Purdue, put Ohio State on the NCAA Tournament bubble before landing a spot in the NIT.

Stewart, who entered the portal in April, is the fourth transfer addition of the spring for the Buckeyes. He follows guard Meechie Johnson (South Carolina), center Aaron Bradshaw (Kentucky) and forward Micah Parrish (San Diego State).
