On Tuesday night Finland's Eurovision Song Contest entry, Windows95man, managed to secure a spot in the contest's upcoming final in Malmö, Sweden.

The flamboyant duo, Teemu Keisteri and guest vocalist Henri Piispanen, ranked tenth in the semi-final.

Finland will perform in the second half of the final, but the exact order of the performances will only be known after another semi-final on Thursday.

"Now I feel good. Our art project made it this far," Keisteri said after the semi-final on Tuesday night.

According to Keisteri, the atmosphere while waiting for the result was the same as at the UMK24 competition.

"My mind went a little blank when Finland appeared on the screen."

"Before that, we were already shaking hands and saying thank you for the trip. This is already pretty good. A real humble Finland. I have to digest this a bit."

Keisteri said that there is still room to improve the act for the final, as there were problems putting on denim shorts in Tuesday's performance. The dancers saved the day.

"I was about to panic and broke out in a cold sweat. But Windows95man's art is good in the sense that it is 'no rules' and anything can happen," Keisteri said, referencing the name of their song No Rules!

Windows95man told Yle he would prepare for Saturday's final by heading across the Øresund Bridge from Malmö to Denmark to buy his son a big Lego set.

He was also scheduled to meet up with Käärijä — Finland's Eurovision runner-up from last year — in Malmö to collaborate on social media content.

Keisteri said he is glad that they were in the first semi-final, and can get some rest before the final.

According to bookmakers, Finland's overall ranking in the contest rose from 14th to 11th place following Tuesday's semi-final. Keisteri said he was doing everything he could to win.

"Of course we want to win. This is crazy," he told Yle.

Remaining finalists decided on Thursday

In addition to Finland, the other qualifiers from the first semi-final were Serbia, Portugal, Slovenia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Cyprus, Croatia, Ireland and Luxembourg.

The second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to take place on Thursday.
